Capital Centre and its bold initiatives are under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC). Sheikh Sultan has a deep understanding of the growth potential of Abu Dhabi, as he is a Member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi Emirate, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Development & Investment Company. He is also a Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency.

ADNEC is a government organisation but functions as a private enterprise and operates within the principle core values of efficiency and effectiveness.This is made possible by the vision and leadership of ADNEC’s Board of Directors and unwavering support of the Abu Dhabi Government.

Under a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, ADNEC was established in August 2005. It replaced the General Exhibitions Corporation ('GEC') which was formerly established under Law No. 3, issued in 1998.
